| Bee Cottage Farmhouse is situated next to a small farm set in peaceful, picturesque surroundings on the edge of the beautiful Durham Dales. Bee Cottage Farmhouse makes a fine place to get away from the stresses of daily life and we are sure you will enjoy the stunning views from our conservatory dining rooms, lounge or garden.
There is a choice of Single/Double/Twin and Family bedrooms to choose from. As of 2003 all rooms have En-Suite facilities for your extra comfort. The bedrooms also have colour Televisions and Tea/Coffee making facilities.
We offer a three course evening meal at £18 per person (including coffee). Food is home cooked, so please pre-book. If you ask after breakfast, we can show you the menu for the day and prepare you choices. We vary the menu from day to day.
Bee Cottage is close to many tourist attractions, including Beamish Open Air Museum, near Stanley in North West Durham. This museum recreates northern life as it was in the early days of the century. There is a reconstructed town centre of authentic houses and shops, colliery village, railway station and a home Farm. So you can go into a pitman's cottage, explore a coal mine, watch the animals on the farm or even take a tram to the Victorian town and ride on the steam trains at Rowley Station.
We are also within easy reach of Durham, which is dominated by its imposing Cathedral and is a delightful place to visit. You can wander the quaint cobbled streets and perhaps stop in to have refreshments at one of the many waterside pubs and restaurants.
