Ewenny Woods provides the perfect location to explore the Heritage Coast and attractions of South Wales. It is an ideal base for golfers, cyclists and walkers.
All our rooms enjoy panoramic views of the Welsh countryside and have a television and DVD, tea and coffee making facilities and deluxe en-suite with double shower. In addition our double room has a king size bed and bath. Bathrobes and hairdryers are provided for your convenience. Guests are free to borrow from our DVD library. There is also a good selection of books and magazines.
Breakfast is served in our sunny dining room overlooking the guest patio and mature gardens. A selection of fruits, cereals and yogurts is offered and a full Welsh breakfast is available to order. We strive to use local fresh produce where possible. Breakfast can be served in your room if desired.
Guests are free to stroll and relax in the gardens. We can provide safe storage for bikes and other sports equipment.
This is an area rich in history and scenery, with many castles, unspoiled coastline and hills and valleys best explored on foot or bike. The village is also the home of Ewenny Pottery, founded in 1610 and still worked by the same family. Two miles west is the huge warren of Merthyr Mawr sand dunes with Candleston Castle and the lost village of Treganllaw. The area is an important wildlife habitat and area of scientific interest , and is a favorite location for athletics training and filmmakers.
Cowbridge contains a wealth of interesting small shops for browsing, including antiques and craft galleries, chic boutiques and a delicatessen, with many excellent places to meet for coffee or to eat.
Cardiff is the main shopping centre in the area. Visit the Museum of Welsh Life at St Fagans. For bargains try the MacArthur Glen Designer Outlet, only 10 minutes away and Wales' largest purpose-built shopping centre.
