| Carfrae is a historic Scottish farmhouse, which is located in the fertile countryside of East Lothian. The Farmhouse, which is only 22 miles from Edinburgh, offers an ideal opportunity for a short break in Scotland. East Lothian offers visitors some of the finest experiences to be found in the UK. The B & B offers a traditional Scottish Holiday in a comfortable farmhouse and is open from April to October.
This Scottish countryside, set in the lowlands of Scotland, plays host to many visitors seeking a variety of different short breaks: playing golf, visiting Scotland's capital city, Edinburgh; walks in the countryside; seeking accommodation en route to the Highlands. Carfrae Farmhouse was built in 19th and still remains an integral part of the farm.
All bedrooms have TV and welcome trays.
There is a drawing room downstairs where guests can sit and relax. Full Scottish breakfast is served in the large dining room where there is a choice of fruit juice, fresh fruit, cereal, porridge followed by bacon, eggs, sausage, tomato and mushrooms.
We have a secluded Loch area where you can walk and enjoy the Scottish wildlife. Perhaps you will see ducks, swans, herons and many other Scottish birds that nest there. The farm is just over 800 acres growing cereals, potatoes and grassland that are grazed by sheep and cattle. As part of the Scottish countryside premiere scheme we actively manage our 150 acres of woodland and hedgerows some of which are a SSS I area. On an early morning stroll you may see a fox, roe deer, lots of pheasants and even a badger.
